I sold HVAC at the
kitchen table for
twelve years.
Then I spent twenty-two years learning how to buy attention online. MacWhirter Consulting is what happens when you put those two things together for HVAC companies.

Tyler MacWhirter
Twelve years selling HVAC at the kitchen table.
Twelve years as a Comfort Advisor.
I spent twelve years in the field as a Comfort Advisor — first with Service Experts, then One Hour Heating & Air. That is twelve years of sitting at kitchen tables, running load calculations, handling objections, and closing tens of millions of dollars of residential HVAC one household at a time.
I know what makes a homeowner say yes. I know the objections before they are spoken, the difference between a price shopper and a real buyer, and how much easier the whole conversation gets when the customer already trusts you before you knock.
Most marketing agencies have never sold a system in their lives. That gap is why so much HVAC marketing generates calls that never turn into revenue.
Twenty-two years buying attention.
In parallel, I have been buying direct-response advertising on the internet for twenty-two years — building multiple brands with my own money behind them.
While I was selling HVAC during the day, I was running ads for an ecommerce store I owned — an essential oils business. I took the commissions I earned at the kitchen table and put them straight back into ad dollars, roughly $30,000 a month in ad spend, and built that store past one million dollars a year in revenue, about $80,000 a month.
I also build organic demand. I played AAA hockey in Niagara Falls, Ontario from age seven to sixteen, and at sixteen I started a hockey sticks website selling sticks online. I spent nothing on ads — pure SEO — and built that store to $7,000 a month in recurring income that ran from age sixteen to twenty-four.
We pre-sell the
homeowner.
Here is the whole idea. Instead of buying leads and hoping your team can close them, we build the marketing that pre-sells the homeowner before your tech or comfort advisor ever arrives.
Your buyer walks into a warmer conversation with a customer who already understands the value — not one who is shopping three contractors on price.
The result is a better return on your ad dollars, a higher close rate for the team you already pay, and a company that keeps growing past the ceiling most contractors hit.
- Buyers arrive already pre-sold on the value
- Your ad spend is tied to sold jobs, not just leads
- The team you already pay closes at a higher rate
- Growth is driven by a system, not by luck

The pre-sell
The homeowner already knows the value before your comfort advisor knocks.
Let’s talk about your business.
If you own an HVAC company doing $300K or more a year, I’ll show you where your demand is leaking and what a realistic target looks like for your fleet size.
